Corrections policy
We correct substantive errors promptly and visibly, and we keep the history readable.
What we do
- Substantive errors (anything that alters meaning, including facts, quotations, titles, dates, attributions, and characterizations of a source) are corrected promptly, with a visible, dated correction note on the page explaining what changed.
- Material updates that change the article significantly are recorded in the same visible history.
- Quiet edits are limited to spelling, grammar, formatting, and other changes that do not alter meaning.
How we handle disputed claims
Any claim a reader challenges is checked against its cited source and, where possible, the underlying primary record. We distinguish clearly among allegation, charge, finding, judgment, reversal, settlement, and conviction, and fix wording that blurs them. Our editorial standards govern what counts as evidence.
How to submit a correction
Tell us which page, which statement, and what evidence shows it is wrong. Final decisions rest with the editor; see about Omituaries Ed.
TODO: Publish the correction submission channel (contact address or form). None has been established yet; this is an open decision.
Correction log
Each article carries its own dated correction history. No corrections have been recorded on this site-level page.
